I purchased several different locks to see which was the highest quality and best fit as a replacement on my mailbox. This one was the highest quality compared to CompX USPS-L-1172C National Mailbox Lock and the Prime-Line Products S 4140 Mailbox Lock. The others had issues with the key mechanism. This CCL lock fits perfectly as a replacement for USPS boxes. The key actually fits inside the lock and turns the lock smoothly without any hitch. Because the mechanism is stainless steel, it won't rust. The locking cam, nut, and metal clip also ensure that it fits nice and snug. I'm very pleased.
