For 37 years, I have had to cross a busy street to get to my mailbox. Recently, due to safety concerns, our Postmaster said we could now place a mailbox on our side of the street as the mail truck comes up the street on our side before coming back around to the other side. I was going to opt out and keep crossing as I did not want to dig through ledge and removing / moving the existing mailbox post would be impossible until i came upon this NO DIG mailbox. I purchased the one without the mailbox included as i could use my box that I had just replaced.It came with all the pieces on the list of parts. It was easy to build. The play sand cost me $8.99 per 50lb bag so I purchased two as 70 lbs is required. Yes, play sand is wet so i left the bags opened overnight in the trunk of the car. It did not dry out very well but i used it to fill regardless. The funnel and holes are just perfect. These two items have most likely been modified by the company based on consumer feedback regarding holes being too small and too small of a funnel. It took about 40 minutes to fill all the while shaking the unit to make sure the sand packs down. I finished filling the 10lbs of sand into the bottom neck curbside after moving the unit in place. Everything else went great, holes lined up, screws went in easily with a power screwdriver. I also took advantage of manufacturer indents on the neck of the unit to drill and place extra screws for a more sturdy unit. I attached my own mailbox easily and the applied numbers (the big red number plate on the box in the photo is something we can purchase from our town's safety complex so I placed it there. I gave sturdiness a score of 4 because if you pull on it, it will shake but i have read many reviews that say these things make it through New England winters. The test will be our town plow, during a snowstorm, it comes by every 20 minutes due to traffic concerns on my street. I'll purchase the Simplay Barrier that they make if required for winter. Overall, very pleased with the price, item, ease of building and the look is great! And it took me three weeks to make a decision on this item after viewing other options. I thought long and hard and I'm very pleased. Don't hesitate. No digging is great! 67 year old, 5' tall, 100 lb woman can do it, you can too! UPDATE: we have had a lot of snow and ice, the plow has driven by it at least 25 times and dumped snow all over the base, the thing is super strong and standing tall. Love it.
